About Us
Our Heritage
Golden Years began as an idea created by Mr. Vic
Carbrey. In 1960, at the age of 80, he began building his nursing
home where older folks could live, be cared for and respected.
Upon completion in November 1965, the first residents were welcomed
and Mr. Carbrey's dream became reality. In 1969, having completed
his goal, Vic decided to retire and sold the Golden Years Nursing
Home to the Austin family and a new family tradition began.
Now, under the second generation of Austin ownership,
Golden Years continues to be operated as a privately-owned family
business. Under the Austin family guidance, Golden Years continues
to grow to meet the challenges of caring for today's seniors and
those that will follow them. We are proud of the care we provide
and grateful for the privilege to serve the hundreds of residents
who have made Golden Years their home.
Overview
Golden Years is situated on five acres of attractively
landscaped property in the Village of Walworth, Wisconsin. The
campus is made up of three facilities: the Retirement
Village, Assisted
Living Residence, and Health
Care Center. Each facility is distinctly different in terms
of the type of individuals served, but all share the same philosophy
to provide appropriate care and services for seniors who choose
to make Golden Years their home.
